Karen Alexander, MSW, LCSW

Karen brings to Alliance Counseling Center a clinical background involving intensive therapy work with severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, families, and adults with various mental health issues. Clinical work has been provided in a variety of settings including residential, inpatient, outpatient, and even wilderness. Karen received training from New York University's School of Social Work in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. These theoretical orientations are designed to help each client deepen their understanding of self-defeating behaviors and develop greater self-authenticity. Utilizing a collaborative effort, Karen works with each client to meet their individual needs with an emphasis on creating a warm and safe space in which to explore their internal world.
