Our eating disorder treatment plans are well known. We attract clients form all around Portland and even serve the Eugene and Corvallis/Salem area since we have an office in Canby. Our treatment plans are flexible but structured in such a way that we are able to consider financial limitations however, we are committed to full recovery so Alliance recommends treatment with us only if we believe we can achieve that goal.
Alliance offers 2 tailor made programs for the treatment of eating disorders. One is a "Basic" program that is designed for the individual who is not severely disabled by an eating disorder. The basic program usually includes an individual psychotherapy appointment per week and includes a registered dietician and a medical doctor as well. Occasionally, if an eating disorder is in remission a single individual appointment is sufficient to monitor recovery.
Our "Intensive" program begins with 2 sessions of psychotherapy per week and also requires weekly appointments with a registered dietician as well as regular medical monitoring by a physician. Intensive treatment ay also include day treatment if the eating disorder is too severe for outpatient treatment. In these cases we work closely with St. Vincent Eating Disorder Treatment Program to insure medical stabilization before attempting outpatient treatment. The goal of intensive outpatient treatment is to structure the clients' week so daily contact with the team is possible. To achieve this goal we offer group therapy and free eating disorder support groups.
If neither outpatient or day treatment are sufficient to stabilize a clients eating disorder we recommend one of several very competent residential treatment centers. These treatment centers offer round the clock treatment and are specifically designed to restore health to an otherwise critically ill client. It is our goal to provide the best care possible without stretching resources whenever necessary so residential treatment is not part of or typical treatment plan.
